Deconstructionism is showed throughout many ways.Using signifiers such as symbols,words, and colors.are a way to interpret the text. For example the word “small” in the text refers to kenan as being a young boy who hated not being able to protect his family during the war. kenan uses the word “advantage” to describe the way he wanted to be superior to penalize all the damage the “soldiers” who were supposed to protect the country. Instead of accomplishing that the soldiers terrorized their own people as well as kenan’s beloved family. Another thing he explains is the word “weapon” this signifies protection in away but also danger. In this case kenan was trying to use the weapon of a broken bottle with the intention of killing a Serb because of his built up rage . “simmer down” explains how he was still conscious of the actions he wanted to take before taking the initiative. Kenan also describes the word “destroy” as something catastrophic because everything he had built like his home and career could extinguish in a second of rage, and he did not want to loose the materialistic things he had accomplished . After his country ,home, and family was devastated.
